Webcam

After many complaints from users, Dell put the webcam back on top of the screen. All the same, the quality of the tiny module did not improve, and the resolution is withal stuck at 1280x720 pixels. Input Devices

Keyboard

Performance – Whiskey Lake in the 2019 XPS

Dell ships its XPS with a powerful processor. The quad-core Intel Core i5-8265U based on the Whiskey Lake compages is supported by 8 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD from SK Hynix. Our test unit is equipped with the UHD touchscreen, which has a native resolution of 3840x2160 pixels.

Processor

The Intel Core i5-8265U quad-core processor is a ULV flake (TDP 15W) based on Intel's Whiskey Lake architecture. The processor runs at a base frequency of 1.6 GHz, but it can accomplish up to 3.seven GHz (all 4 cores), 3.eight GHz (two cores), or 3.9 GHz (one cadre) via Turbo Boost.

Temperature

Dell's XPS xiii only warms up moderately, and we only measure average surface temperatures of 26-27 °C while idling. This patently changes nether load, which is represented by our stress test here. Speaker

The speakers of the Dell XPS 13 9380 did not alter and are still located underneath the palm rests on the left and right sides. You can run across small speaker grilles at both sides.

The mids and loftier tones are well represented, and they are also comparatively balanced. Even so, the resulting sound completely lacks bass. More is not possible with the minor speaker setup.

Dell likewise installs the Maxx Audio Pro tool including several audio enhancements, but this does non change the weak bass. You can also simulate surround sound with the Waves nX features.
